The new multifunctional Kuhnke FIO Mixed I/O module combines the advantages of a standard solution with those of a tailor made solution optimized for a specific application. This I/O module supports the realization of different alternatives of a machine or system on the basis of one and the same hardware solution and without causing additional costs. The high level of flexibility of the module is based upon input and output terminals which can be parameterised freely. The combination of analogue and digital I/Os on one and the same board supports the cost effective realisation of compact solutions without compromising flexibility and variability.
Due to parameterisation of the digital inputs, valuable additional functions such as counters or encoders can be realised fast and easily without the need of additional terminals. Since the multifunctional Kuhnke FIO Mixed I/O module is part of the modular EtherCAT I/O system Kuhnke FIO, it can also be expanded with numerous dockable standard bus modules. For this purpose, a special bus terminal at the side of the module is available.
Besides 8 input terminals, which can be configured as a counter or encoder input, 8 additional digital input and output signals can be used. For analogue signals, 4 input terminals and 4 additional inputs and outputs (for either current or voltage signals) are available.
Especially when it comes to the development of new control concepts for machines and systems, this enhanced connectivity offers the required flexibility to realize changes at I/O level without causing additional costs.
